Lessons are given according to the Certified Horsemanship Association standards.
Schellie is certified in Levels 1 & 2 Western and English with lower level jumping.

Lesson Information:
Any adults or children that accompany you or your child to the lesson will be listed on your waiver or asked to sign a separate liability waiver.
We do not have a public restroom. However, if you need facilities, this is in the basement of our house. Please encourage your children to go before they leave home.
Facility Rules:
1. No smoking.
2. No dogs.
3. Children must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian at ALL times.
4. For safety reasons, spectators must remain in the viewing area in the grove at the picnic tables.
while lessons or equine activities are in session.
5. Be courteous and polite to other riders and follow posted rules as well as any instructions that your instructor gives you.
6. No Screaming, running or yelling (even in the viewing area).
7. Clean up after your horse and yourself.
8. Close all gates you find closed

Lesson Information:
- Lessons are approximately one hour long, and hours of operation for Lessons are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Summer schedule, June through August will be primarily mornings 9:00, 10:00 or 11:00 time slots. Once school starts we will be back to an after school schedule.
- Lesson cost will be $200.00. This will be for 4 lessons, usually once a week. You are welcome to schedule more lesson time. We ask that all lesson fees be paid before the scheduled lesson date or at the first session. We accept cash, check or PayPal. If paying by PayPal, please choose the “friends and family” method so no extra fees are charged. You may send to the e-mail of [email protected].
- If a lesson is missed for any reason, by either party, a make up lesson will need to be scheduled within the same month. We will not carry lesson fees into the next month.
- Parents: make sure that your youth knows that at least one lesson a month may consist of ground work or other horse related activity or learned information. Sometimes this activity or learned information may be worked into a regular riding lesson and make the lesson go slightly longer.
- Please talk to us about the following: volunteer opportunities, virtual horse showing, live horse showing, extra lessons.
- Long pants, Jeans, Breeches, Riding Tights or Leggings (smooth pocketed, no bling)
- Boots with a smooth sole and defined heel not more than 1 ½ inches high or other approved close toed shoe with a heel. No open toed shoes, tennis shoes or sneakers of any kind. We try to keep a couple spare pairs of boots on hand in case you forget yours, but the sizes are limited.
- No loose or billowing shirts or clothes and no long, loose jewelry.
- Dress appropriate for the weather/season you’ll be riding in.
- You are welcome to bring a drink. (No alcohol allowed on premises.)
- LADIES: please tie your hair back.

UNDER 8 Program - We are currently taking short stirrup riders. Lessons are 1/2 hour and a package of lessons is $160. They will learn how to lead, groom, tack up, ride and other tasks suitable for their size with assistance.
